Avicii Retiring from Live Performances
He may be only 26, but this Swedish DJ has had enough of touring and traveling around the world. Ultra-popular star of house music, Avicii, has decided to retire from live performances and he announced it in an emotional letter to his fans on his website.
As USmagazine reports, Avicii wants to quit touring after he finishes with his gigs in 2016. He has been on tour constantly since 2013, and he realized that it’s a bit too much for him as he stopped being a regular person and turned completely into the artist he is. “I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist,” said Avicii in his letter.
Swedish superstar had a revelation while he was on a road trip across the U.S. a few weeks ago. “Two weeks ago, I took the time to drive across the U.S. with my friends and team, to just look and see and think about things in a new way. It really helped me realize that I needed to make the change that I’d been struggling with for a while,” he wrote.
However, Avicii’s fans don’t need to panic. The DJ will still continue to make music and do collaborations that he is so famous for. He wants to continue to communicate to his fans through music and that isn’t going to stop. He also left room for a potential return in the future, saying: “One part of me can never say never, I could be back … but I won’t be right back.”
