Even She’s Getting Divorced, Halle Berry Saying Enough
After Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian, John Ham and Jennifer Westfeldt, yet another celebrity couple is splitting up – this time it’s Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez.
That things weren’t perfect could have been seen during summer. In fact, it looked like their second wedding anniversary slipped Halle’s mind during an interview, and the interview host actually reminded her for which she politely replied, “Thank you for reminding me, I really have to get something fast!”
A few months ago, Radar was the first to announce that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez’s marriage was near its end, because they hardly ever spent any time together. The final nail in the coffin was when Olivier attacked the paparazzi with a car seat at LAX – needless to say the pap filed a lawsuit which ended in a big fight between the married couple.
Soon after the incident Halle filed for divorce. After it was publically revealed that the two of them are getting a divorce, Halle and Olivier united one last time to release a joint statement confirming their marriage is coming to an end:
“It’s with a heavy heart that we have come to a decision to divorce… We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son.”
However, things won’t change so suddenly because the two of them have been separated for months already. The exes just want to finish the divorce papers and move on with their lives. “They have struggled for a long time and have been living separate lives.”
Another source told E! “Things didn’t jive between them and they grew apart.”
The two of them met on the set of Dark Tide in 2010, and in 2013 Halle was pregnant with their baby boy, Maceo-Robert Martinez, and the two of them got married in Olivier’s native France.
This is Halle Berry’s third divorce (and she still has time for several more), while it’s the first divorce for Olivier. Three years before meeting Olivier, Berry told InStyle, “I will never-ever get married again.”
