Jennifer Westfeldt and ‘Mad Men’ Star Jon Hamm Split
Actor Jon Hamm, who played in the popular TV series Mad Men, and Jennifer Westfeldt ended their 18-year long relationship, according to People magazine.
“With great sadness, we’ve decided to separate after 18-years of love and shared history. We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible,” the couple told CelebGazette in a joint statement.
Jon Hamm (44) recently went through rehab earlier this year over an alcohol addiction, giving credit to his then-better half, Jennifer Westfeldt, for being a massive support during his treatment.
Sources claim that Jon, even though being a great person to be friends with, has a dark side that he has battled for quite some time now. After his rehab he got rid of those demons, so he no longer needed Jennifer, who was more of a motherly figure during the last couple of years of their relationship. “Jenifer had been more like a mother or a manager than a girlfriend to Jon,” claims a source close to the couple.
Sources close to Jon claim that he is upset, but is trying to forget about the split by hanging out with his guy friends, who have been eager to set him up with younger girls.
The split doesn’t come as such a big surprise as speculations had been circulating for months. The last time the two of them appeared together in public was way back in July at the Netflix Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp after-party in NYC.
Jennifer Westfeldt (45) is an actor and screenwriter. Their relationship began in 1997, and they played together in Friends with Kids in 2011.
