Chris Hemsworth to Join the All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Cast
Looks like the producers of the new Ghostbusters movie wanted to add some eye candy to the all-female cast.
The tables have turned!
The most interesting thing is that he will play the role of a receptionist. After decades of female secretaries who suppose to be eye candy for the male bosses in TV series and movies, women can feast their eyes on this hot receptionist.
Ghostbusters director, Paul Feig, announced the news on his Twitter account on June 10 by posting “Our receptionist #whoyougonnacall,” with a picture of the gorgeous Chris Hemsworth.
The reactions to the news were divided. A lot of them reacted quite strange, claiming that having a male secretary is kind of “demeaning”, but where were they for the last couple of eons when women exclusively played these types of roles.
Nonetheless, it was definitely a bold move by the screenwriters and producers to make a reinvention of the famous movie with an all-female cast. It will definitely be interesting to see how the hard-core fans of the old Ghostbusters movies will react, as this will be a huge shift.
Chris will join Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Mellissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones in the remake of the 80s classic Ghostbusters.
The film is to be released on June 22, 2016, and we can’t wait to see whether it will be popular like the original movies.
What do you think, will die-hard fans hate the new version of the movie just because of the female ghost busters?
