Here Are the Nominees for the 2015 VMAs

By  |

The VMAs are airing on Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m. and we already know that Miley Cyrus is going to entertain us throughout the show. But now, nominations are finally in and even though we expected most of them, some came as a surprise.

As we could have guessed, Taylor Swift is in the lead with 9 nominations. Right behind her, it’s her good buddy Ed Sheeran with 6 nominations. Third place is shared by Beyonce and Mark Ronson, who both have 5 nominations.

VMAs are going to be tense this year. As soon as the nominations have been announced, the social media have gone crazy and some of the stars have even started calling out each other on Twitter.

Nicki Minaj has more than one remark on the nominations. She is irritated by the fact that her collab with Beyonce Feelin’ Myself is nowhere to be found among the nominations. Moreover, she is not very satisfied that her Anaconda video isn’t up for the Video of the Year Award and she implicitly blamed TayTay for this. This caused a stir between the two starlets but we doubt there will be any bad blood after it all calms down.

And looking at the list of nominees, Mark Ronson and Ed Sheeran will be fighting for the Moonman in the men’s category, while in the women’s lane it seems that Beyonce and Taylor are standing neck and neck. Luckily, Kanye is not nominated so there will be no danger of him running up on stage and grabbing that mic from Taylor to make a statement.

All in all, we are in for an awesome show. So grab your popcorn and sit tight, August 30 can’t come soon enough. And here are the nominees:
