Shocking! 10 Brilliant Musicians That Have Never Won a Grammy
Some of these musicians are still rocking the stage, while others are long gone. But one thing is for certain, these artists have definitely changed the face of music. However, even with their great contribution, they have failed to receive the biggest recognition in music – a Grammy Award.
1. The Doors
One of the most influential bands of the 60’s and 70’s never won a Grammy. The legendary rock group led by the even more legendary vocalist Jim Morrison took the world by storm when they first started playing in 1965. The band became incredibly popular almost immediately, mostly because of their controversial lyrics and Morrison’s wild and unpredictable performances. They were the first band to openly sing about drugs which started a revolution in rock music.
Almost all of their albums were in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart and received platinum status.
After his death at age 27, Jim Morrison became one of the icons of rock and roll. The Doors have sold around 100 million records around the world and their popularity persists even today.
Rolling Stone magazine named them 41st on their list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
But even with all this success, they never won a Grammy. At least they did receive a lifetime achievement award in 2007.
