Kesha Speaks Up after Her Loss in Court
It has been a week since Kesha’s court ruling that denied her request to be set free of her abusive music producer Dr. Luke. And now, 28-year-old pop singer has finally spoken up about the whole matter and thanked everyone who has supported her.
Kesha has taken to Facebook to express her gratitude for all the support and compassion from everyone in the world, especially those who have put their careers on the line to stand behind her. Kesha wrote: “I’m so, so beyond humbled and thankful for all of the support I’ve received from everyone. Words cannot really express the emotions I’ve gone through reading and seeing how amazing everyone has been to me. I can’t believe that so many people all over the world took the time to show me support and love. Other entertainers who knowingly put their own careers at stake by supporting me, I will be forever grateful.”
Even though some have maliciously stated that the singer was proceeding with her legal battle in order to score a better deal, she used the opportunity to clear that up as well saying that she only wanted to be able to make music without being scared and abused.
Other stars such as Lena Dunham, Taylor Swift and Adele have expressed their utter disappointment and rage over the court ruling giving Kesha their support but also standing up for all the girls who have been in a similar situation. According to Kesha, her producer Dr. Luke had raped her and then threatened to ruin her career if she ever spoke about it.
Kesha, as well as other entertainers, is now speaking up not only for herself but for all the abused women saying: “We’re all in this together. You are not alone.” However, having lost the legal battle, the singer is now afraid that her case will only make victims like her less confident about speaking up which makes the problem much bigger.
